Welcome Back

Welcome back! We hope that you had a wonderful break in preparation for a big term here at school!!

NAPLAN

Naplan will be undertaken during May this year. On Tuesday May 11th, students in Years 3 and 5 will complete testing in Language Conventions and Writing, Wednesday May 12th will be Reading and Thursday May 13th will be Numeracy.

The results not only give us a snap shot of how our children are performing but we also use them to reflect on our teaching and learning. I would remind parents that the NAPLAN tests are only one way that students are assessed and we monitor student achievement in many ways, throughout the year.

MOBILE PHONE POLICY

Just a reminder that our mobile phone policy is as follows:

  • All mobile phones that are brought into the school by students are to be surrendered to the office before commencement of classes.
  • The phones will be returned to the students upon the completion of their school day.

If the need arises for emergency contact from parents/guardians during school hours, the school’s communication systems including landline for immediate contact or dojo and Facebook.

ANZAC DAY

Last Sunday we were represented at the Anzac Day commemoration by our student leaders. They were fine representatives who displayed respect and dignity while laying a wreath on behalf of our school.

Thank you to Mr. Price for assisting with this event.

Mother's Day Stall

Each year our Parent Club organise a Mother’s Day stall for our students.

This year it will take place on Thursday 6th May with a mini stall before school Friday 7th.

Every student will have the opportunity to choose and purchase something lovely for Mum, Nan, Gran or maybe some other special person in their lives.

All gifts are priced under $10 (many gifts are as little as $1).

Please send your child along with some money in an envelope so that they can make a purchase on the day.

Thank you for your support of our fundraiser.

Give a Damn Give a Can

GIVE A DAMN GIVE A CAN
The Junior School Council will once again be running the ‘Give a Damn Give a Can’ initiative over the coming weeks. There will no doubt be stiff competition between classes and units to see who can collect the most cans. Let the competition begin!

3/4 Swimming

SWIMMING GRADES 2/3G, 3/4H, 3/4S & 3/4W.

The end of this term will see swimming lessons for 2/3G, 3/4H, 3/4S and 3/4W. Swimming lessons will start on the 15th of June and conclude on the 25th of June. It is a great opportunity for students to learn water safety and improve their confidence around water.

Approximate cost $80.
