Welcome Back to Term 3

We hope that you had a terrific break and are raring to go this term!

This term is always an exciting term as it culminates in the School Performance. This experience  provides the students with an opportunity to perform and to learn singing, dancing and drama and be involved in prop and costume making. This year’s performance is called ‘Madagascar’ and we look forward to watching it all come together.

Please note, that this year the performance will be filmed and presented to our school via a movie premiere experience, later in the term to showcase our children’s talent.

EXCURSIONS AND INCURSIONS

PREP/1 BARN BUDDIES INCURSION (JULY 27th)

This term in the Prep/1 Unit, our inquiry topic is all about Farms. Students have been learning about different types of farms, the job of a farmer and the types animals we find on a farm.

To support our students learning, the Prep/1 Unit will be having a visit from Barn Buddies, a Gippsland based Mobile Animal Farm on Wednesday July 27.  They will be bringing over 40 animals to the school for the children to feed and pet. Animals include a calf, lambs, goats, chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs and a turtle.

5/6 ROBOTICS INCURSION (AUG 3rd)

On Wednesday August 3, the Grade 5/6 classes will be having a workshop on Robotics here at school. ‘Robotics on the road’ is a hands-on, incursion program that engages students to think logically and create a list of steps and instructions for their robot using programming language.

PREP/1 RESPONSIBLE PET OWNERSHIP INCURSION (AUG 4th)

On Thursday August 4, all students in the Prep/One Unit will be lucky enough to receive a visit from the Responsible Pet Ownership Team. This is a dog safety program that involves a visit from a dog and the owner. During the visit all students are taught how to safely approach and interact with a dog. It is hoped that this education will help our students remain safe around dogs.

5/6 FED UNI CAREER VISIT (AUG 5th)

On Friday August 5, the Grade 5/6 students will attend the Discovery Club Program at Fed Uni. This is a program that allows students to experience and discover firsthand what it is like at university and the future career aspirations available through this pathway. Throughout their day on campus, students will participate in a range of activities such as exploring future work options, completing engaging activities within the different university schools, taking part in a graduation ceremony, and receiving a thank you bag for attending.
