ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL AWARDS
Congratulations to both Jeremy Worsley and Melinda Turrell who were presented with their Assistant Principal Awards at Friday’s assembly.
In keeping with our SunSmart Policy, children are required to wear a broad brimmed hat during Term 4. Hats are not only required for recess and lunch but also for PE sessions. We ask that all children have a school approved hat at school for the rest of this term. Given that exposure to UV during childhood and adolescence is a major factor in determining future skin cancer risk, children without a hat will be required to sit in a designated shaded area.
The School Office has hats available for $10.00.
We are looking at finalising our numbers for 2024. If you’re enrolling or know of someone who is enrolling their Prep child in 2024, please contact the school ASAP. These numbers help determine our Grade structures and placement of teachers for 2024, so it’s imperative that we know this information as early as possible.
Within the coming weeks, staff will be looking at working out our 2024 Grade structure. It is likely that we will have 13 grades next year. As part of this process staff will also look at Grade placements. When staff do this, they go through a rigorous process to ensure that the children are best placed according to their social, emotional and educational needs. At times there are bits of information that we miss.eg. that Johnny and Bobby are cousins and probably shouldn’t be placed together. Having said this, if you have some information or something that you would like us, as professionals to consider, before your children are placed in their 2024 class, please see Mrs. Maguire, Mr. Price or myself prior to December 1st, 2023.
Our 2024 Prep Transition Program has commenced this term. Here are the key dates:
Monday November 6 will be a student free day, enabling staff to focus on assessment and reporting. Decisions taken to have school closure days are made when there is an opportunity for staff to work together on something that will ultimately support children's learning. This is our final one for the year. We thank you for your understanding.
Please note that the following day, (Tuesday November 7 ) is Melbourne Cup Day….a public holiday.
