GRADE PLACEMENT
Shortly, we will be working out our 2024 Grade structure. As part of this process staff will also look at Grade placements. When staff do this, they go through a rigorous process to ensure that the children are best placed according to their social, emotional and educational needs. At times there are bits of information that we miss eg. that Johnny and Billy are cousins and probably shouldn’t be placed together. Having said this if you have some information or something that you would like us, as professionals to consider, before your children are placed, please see Mrs. Maguire, Mr. Price or myself prior to December 1st.
KINDER – PREP TRANSITION
Our Kinder – Prep transition program is well underway. The sessions will continue as follows:
ENROLMENTS
We are currently taking enrolments for 2024. If you have a child starting school next year or one transferring from another school, please give us a call or pop in to commence the enrolment process.
Congratulations to the following students who were presented with their Principal Awards at last Friday’s assembly. Well done to Ryan Benjamin, Rubi Parsons, Kaleb Louis – Deboer, Ivy Wal, Seun Oyinloye, Lainey Biliew Lleyton Nankervis, Jess Scott, Jordan James, Chudier Ruach, Jameson Clough
ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL AWARDS
Congratulations to both Cheyenne Willoughby and Mylee Clasby who were presented with their Assistant Principal Awards at last Friday’s assembly.
The concert is certainly hitting full pace. The children are learning their class dances and the finale dance, teachers are organising costumes and props are being constructed. We are very excited to be presenting the production “Dancing through the Decades” next week.
The JSC’s Colour Explosion event will happen on Friday the 1st of December. For those new to our colour explosion event, this means that the students will run around an obstacle course, in their units, on the oval whilst dodging JSCs and staff who will have non-allergenic powder bottles and will be spraying the children. Students will get wet and it will change the colour of their day.
The children will be required to wear a white shirt on the day and it will culminate with a whole school powder toss. Part of the day will involve sliming some of the teachers as the highest fundraiser from each class will get to slime their chosen teacher (from the list of volunteer staff).
Parents are welcome to observe. We have one week of fundraising to go and we’d like to say a big thank you to those children who have been busy getting donations. Keep up the good work everyone.
This is fast approaching, with the program due to commence at the Ford Swim Centre, early in December. This is an exceptional learn to swim program that we encourage all students to participate in, so please have your forms returned and monies paid prior to this commencing on Monday December 4th.
In keeping with our SunSmart Policy, children are required to wear a broad brimmed hat during Term 4. Hats are not only required for recess and lunch but also for PE sessions. We ask that all children have a school approved hat at school for the rest of this term. Given that exposure to UV during childhood and adolescence is a major factor in determining future skin cancer risk, children without a hat will be required to sit in a designated shaded area.
The School Office has hats available for $10.00.
