ENROLMENTS & TRANSITION

We are currently taking enrolments for 2025. If you have a child starting school next year or one transferring from another school, please give us a call or pop in to commence the enrolment process.

TRANSITION DAY – KINDER-PREP and YEARS 6-7

On Tuesday December 10th we will hold Transition Day. As part of this day our Year 6 students attend the Secondary College for the whole day and our 2025 Preps attend for a morning session, between 9.00am and 10.30am.

GRADE PLACEMENT

Shortly, we will be working out our 2025 Grade structure. As part of this process staff will also look at Grade placements.  When staff do this, they go through a rigorous process to ensure that the children are best placed according to their social, emotional and educational needs.  At times there are bits of information that we miss eg. that Johnny and Billy are cousins and probably shouldn’t be placed together.  Having said this if you have some information or something that you would like us, as professionals to consider, before your children are placed, please see Mrs. Maguire, Mr. Price or myself prior to December 1st.

GRADE 5/6 WARATAH BEACH CAMP

The Grade 5/6 ‘s attended the Waratah Beach Camp last week. From all accounts, the students had a fantastic time working through a range of activities including the: aeroball, giant swing, ropes course and initiative games. These experiences give students the opportunity to build on their personal development skills within a non-school setting, which can only be of benefit.

GRADUATION

On Tuesday December 17th, the Grade 6 Graduation will be held. We congratulate all of our Grade 6 students and wish them all the best with the next phase of their school life. Their persistence and resilience will hold them in good stead moving forward.

NEW BINS

The school is embarking on a jorney of waste reduction.

To start this off we have introduced four new bins which have been placed around the school.
The bins we now have at school include bins for the container deposit scheme (orange lids), bins for cardboard and paper recycling (blue bins), bins for all other recycling (yellow lids) and an organics bins for food scraps (for the worm farms that will be set up over the Christmas break).
Keep an eye out for our new bins.... Our goal is to reduce the amount of waste we are sending to landfill!

TERM 4 SUNSMART

In keeping with our SunSmart Policy, children are required to wear a broad brimmed hat during Term 4. Hats are not only required for recess and lunch but also for PE sessions.

We ask that all children have a school approved hat at school for the rest of this term. Given that exposure to UV during childhood and adolescence is a major factor in determining future skin cancer risk, children without a hat will be required to sit in a designated shaded area.

Hats are available at the school office for $10.
