STAFF CHANGES

FAREWELL KYLIE MCDONALD/ WELCOME MR. CAMPBELL

Kylie Mc Donald will be leaving us later this term, having picked up a position at another local school. Kylie has worked across different year levels, most recently in the Senior Unit, and has also spent time as a Specialist Teacher in her 8 years at Liddiard Rd PS. We thank Kylie for her contribution to our school over the last 8 years and wish her well in the future!

A new teacher, Mr. Dylan Campbell will take over the class at the beginning of Term 3. We believe that Mr. Campbell will be a welcome addition to our school.

FAREWELL MRS. KAUFMANN

After 21 years of service to the school, Cherrie Kaufmann has decided it’s time to leave us and pursue some other ventures. Cherrie has been an ES Officer and Grounds person in the latter part of her working life, always working hard to support our students and connect with the school community.

Cherrie has made a significant contribution over a long period of time, and we would like to thank her and wish her well on behalf of the school community.

GIVE A DAMN GIVE A CAN

We are coming into the last week of our can collection for The Traralgon Rotary, St. Vincent de Paul and most importantly, needy families. Once again, our school community has risen to the challenge and been extremely generous in its support of this appeal. This is particularly evident in the tally thus far, which stands at 805 cans. Next week will be the last opportunity to donate cans to this great cause.

OPEN NIGHT

The Open Day morning was successful in showcasing the talents and skills of our student body. Our senior school leaders shared a presentation and showed our prospective 2026 Prep Parents around the school. They were confident, well organised and excellent examples of the citizens we produce here at LRPS.

We also held our Open Night/ Maths games community event on Monday night. The children and parents appeared to really enjoy themselves as they went around to each classroom. We thank everyone for once again supporting such events. Congratulations to Jack Grey, our Rutters Butchers voucher winner.

CROSS COUNTRY

Congratulations to Savanah Campbell- Jarvis, Lily Cooper and Laurie Sutherland who represented our school at the District Cross Country held at Churchill this week. Both Savanah and Laurie finished in the top 15 runners for their age group, whilst Lily finished in 5th position. This result will see compete at the Regional Cross Country in Drouin. Well done!

ATTITUDES TO SCHOOL

The 2025 Attitudes to School Survey will be conducted shortly for Year 4-6 students. This annual student survey collects data to support student wellbeing, engagement, school improvement and planning in schools. Data collected will help our school gain an overall picture of student perceptions of school and their learning.

IMPORTANT DATES

NATIONALLY CONSISTENT COLLECTION OF DATA

Every year, all schools in Australia participate in the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD). The NCCD process requires schools to identify information already available in the school about supports provided to students with disability. These relate to legislative requirements under the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 and the Disability Standards for Education 2005, in line with the NCCD guidelines (2019).

Information provided about students to the Australian Government for the NCCD includes:

  • year of schooling
  • category of disability: physical, cognitive, sensory or social/emotional
  • level of adjustment provided: support provided within quality differentiated teaching practice, supplementary, substantial or extensive.

This information assists schools to:

  • formally recognise the supports and adjustments provided to students with disability in schools
  • consider how they can strengthen the support of students with disability in schools
  • develop shared practices so that they can review their learning programs in order to improve educational outcomes for students with disability.

The NCCD provides state and federal governments with the information they need to plan more broadly for the support of students with disability.

The NCCD will have no direct impact on your child and your child will not be involved in any testing process. The school will provide data to the Australian Government in such a way that no individual student will be able to be identified – the privacy and confidentiality of all students is ensured. All information is protected by privacy laws that regulate the collection, storage and disclosure of personal information. To find out more about these matters, please refer to the Australian Government’s Privacy Policy (https://www.education.gov.au/privacy-policy).

Further information about the NCCD can be found on the NCCD Portal (https://www.nccd.edu.au).

If you have any questions about the NCCD, please contact the school.
